SUPRO organized a day-long Project Planning Workshop at YWCA Auditorium, Mohammadpur, Dhaka on 27 July 2013. In the workshop activity plan of the project one in titled, ‘Promoting Pro-Poor Policy Reform & Public Services for All’ and plan for the pilot project ‘Promoting Tax Justice in Bangladesh’ were shared with its networking members. Above mentioned both projects are funded by Oxfam Novib.  Activities of the projects have also been discussed in the meeting.  Representatives of SUPRO network member organizations from district level including District Secretary, National Council Members, District Committee Members, District Campaign Facilitators and SUPRO Secretariat Staff were present and actively participated in the workshop.

Md. Arifur Rahman, General Secretary of SUPRO delivered his welcome speech and Mustafizur Rahman Khan emphasized the objectives of the workshop in his speech. The program was divided into two sessions. In the 1st session Md. Shariful Islam, Coordinator of SUPRO, gave a presentation on Annual Plan for the project of PPPR&PS 2013mentioning timeframe, quantity and budget for the interventions. On the 2nd part Samia Ahmed, Director of SUPRO, presented activity plan for the project Promoting Tax Justice in Bangladesh. She put emphasis on timeframe and budget of the interventions on tax issue in her presentation.

After the presentation an extensive discussion on the interventions was held where all the representatives from various districts participated and posed some recommendations to overcome the challenges and for quality activity implementation. All the participants took part actively in an analytical discussion to find out a way towards more successful program implementation. They gave a number of recommendations to overcome specific challenges.

In meeting up-coming challenges has been discussed and recommendations has been given as a part of way out.  With fruitful discussion the Project Planning Workshop was ended with the concluding speech from Mustafizur Rahman Khan, Chairperson, SUPRO.
