IINTRODUCTIION
SUPRO organized a Training of Trainers (ToT) on Political Economy of Globalization for district campaigners especially who provide trainings at the local level from 14 districts of Chittagong, Sylhet, Dhaka and Barishal division at YPSA Training Center, House N0- 315, Road No-13 , Block- B, Chandgaon, Chittagong during August 04-06, 2009. A total of 34 participants (Male-27, female-7) have attended in the training program. The Staffs of SUPRO Secretariat have facilitated the Training workshop according to the outline and thematic issues of the training that has been prepared before organizing the training. The training has been conducted and moderated as per the prepared module for the training on of Political Economy of Globalization. The participants have arrived on August 03, 2009 by evening at the training centre and the program ended on August 06, 2009 followed by lunch according to the schedule of the program.

DAY ONE:: 04..08..2009
The training program on ‘Globalization of Political Economy’ was started at 9.20 am at YPSA Training Hall with an opening and introductory session where Sarifa Khatun, EC member of SUPRO and ED of Welfare Efforts and Nirmal Chandra District Secretary of SUPRO-Sunamgonj and ED of SUJAN has inaugurated the 3 day long Training workshop on Globalization of Political Economy. After that a chorus song ‘Aguner Paroshmoni Choau Prane’ was sung by all participants. Then a formal introductory session, training objectives assessment along with formation of 3 groups namely, Review group, Reporting group and Recreation group to make the training program successful. Then, in the first session, Basanti Saha has facilitated on Terms and Glossary with interpretation of globalization, capitalization, international treaties and multinational companies which have made the participants to understand the study circle method. Comrade Mrinal Chowdhury has facilitated the session on Evolution of Society and Capital through lecture method and elaborate discussion which helped the participants to know and understand the history of evolution of society up to the present society. After lunch, Alim-Al-Razy has started his session ‘Capitalization, Colonialization and Neo Liberal Economy” by singing a song (Gono Songit). He facilitated the session with lecture method, by multimedia presentation comparing with pictures and animation that was enjoyed by participants on the negative consequences of capitalization, Colonialization and neo liberal economy in Bangladesh and how we are being oppressed by its negative impact. Then, Kazi Shafiqur Rahman has facilitated on State, Market and Civil Society: Three dimensional Relationships with lecture method, power point presentation and open discussion which helped participants to understand the complex nature of relationship among state, market and civil society. The session has also identified that market is gradually becoming bigger than state and its negative consequences are the cause of suffering of people. The first day was ended with a review session of the whole day’s activities conducted by the review group of the training program.

DAY TWO:: 05..08..2009
The second day of the training on ‘Globalization of Political Economy’ was started at 9:00 through welcoming all participants. On behalf of the Reporting group Golap, Mr. Saidur Rahman presented a written report of day-1 covering all the issues discussed. All participants gave thanks to this group for their elaborative presentation. The second session on `The Roles of World Bank, IMF: SAAP to PRSP that was facilitated by Basanti Saha, with lecture method, Power Point presentation. Open discussion was held on relevant issues where mostly every participant participated. Another session on SAAP and Agriculture & Industrial Sector was also conducted by Basanti Saha together with Lawrence Besra through lecture method and power point presentation. Strategies of World Bank, IMF & SAAP and their effect on our country agriculture, industry including all over our economy were critically discussed with participants. After lunch break, the third session of the day was on the conditional foreign debt, donation & structural adjustment program facilitated by Lawrence Besra with lecture method and power point presentation and open discussion. In this session, foreign debt & its impact on our economy broadly focused and how our national budget is decreasing its budget allocation to the essential services and how debt burden is slowing down the development of the country. After lunch, the session was continued on the formation, objectives and the process of decision making of WTO with lecture method and PowerPoint presentation. Through this session, the objectives of WTO, its role and its impact on the economy especially on the third world countries like Bangladesh were clearly identified which were also discussed in the open discussion. Then, the fifth session was facilitated by Manju Rani Paramanik, respected EC members on the treaties of WTO and its negative impact on our country especially on agriculture and industrial sectors. In the session, it has been explained how treaties of WTO is causing economic slow down and unequal trade justice in perspective of our country. The second day was ended with a review session comprehensively conducted by the review group reflecting the whole day activities. A sight seeing to Potenga has also organized for the participants by three microbuses. All participants enjoyed the sea sight by moving at the sea bank and took several snapshots with the beautiful scenery.
 
DAY THREE:: 06..08..2009
The 3rd day of the training was started with reporting presentation of the reporting group headed by Maruf and Suvankor followed by a modern song sung by Alim-Al-Razy to inspire and stirring the participants. All the participants gave thanks and relevant feed back to the reporting and entertainment group for their exclusive presentation. The 2nd session of the day was on  globalization and open Market Economy and what we can do, has been facilitated by jointly Lawrence Besra and Basanti Saha. In that session facilitator has articulated all sessions of training and urged to work in a group on what is the role and responsibility of civil society and NGOs. They have also presented some example like as individual what they can do and as a civil society organization. The participants were divided in to three groups and given 20 minutes for their group work. After brainstorming within the groups, the participants wrote their findings on poster paper and group leader presented their findings. After the completion of the group presentations facilitator summarized the session. Facilitator urged the participants for evaluating the training. The 3rd session was on influence of Globalization in Bangladesh started on by Comrade Shah Alam with lecture method, sharing and elaborative discussion through questions and answer. He shared knowledge & experiences in line with impact of globalization and open market economy in their livelihood through the open discussion. At the end, evaluation form has been distributed to the participants with needed orientation on which participants have evaluated the three-day long training program. Participants have expressed their personal opinions on the program and facilitators have expressed their thanks and gratitude to the participants for attending the program with an urge to be involved in the training workshops for youth and students at districts level and in organizing essay and debates competitions on the globalization of political economy.
