Plan: 2002-2007
During
the first quarter of 2002 according to the decision
from national council a small committee (Mustafizur
Rahman Khan– Shaw Unnayan, Swapan Paul –
SUS, Rezaul K Chowdhury – COAST) have had formed
and who drafted this five year plan, later which have
had approved in national council (the then national
working committee) during April 2002. In view of vision,
mission and strategies major objectives of the plan
are to develop local level capacities with micro macro
linkages. The committee empowered the secretary to
negotiate with partners for funding for part of full
of the plan. detail

Brief on “Promotion of Nationwide Awareness and
Taking Positions on Neo Liberal Economics” |

This
is project for the period of August 2004 to July 2005,
major components of the projects are
i)
development of modular training program on political
economy of globalization and its implementation in
6 courses in 6 part of the regions of the country
to promote local level civil society activism especially
in district level,
ii)
facilitate country wide global week of action during
the period of 10-16 April 2006 against the neo liberal
economics in line with trade justice movement, and
iii)
production of development communication materials.
Christian Aid is funding this project. |

Occasionally
SUPRO has received funding from others too. For first
campaign, i.e., campaign against confrontational politics
during June – September 2001 SUPRO received
funding from Action Aid. Action Aid has funded the
campaign on critical participation in PRSP during
May to September 2002, apart from this Action Aid
has also funded the campaign on civil society positioning
on PRSP during May - September 2004.
OXFAM-GB
and NETZ Bangladesh (a germen development organization)
has also co-funded along with Action Aid and Christian
Aid during June 2003 for the campaign and positioning
on WTO on the eve of LDC (least developed countries)
ministerial conference in Dhaka for preparation of
WTO Cancun meeting.

COARDAID, a Netherlands
based development organization funded SUPRO for its
short-term project on ‘Promoting Awareness and
Critical Participation in PRSP Process’.
The project goal is to facilitate member
organizations of SUPRO to develop critical
understanding on PRSP and ensure grassroots
participation in the implementation of national
activities. |
