Advocacy is a core program of SUPRO. Over the years SUPRO has been placing urge to the governments to formulate pro poor and participatory national budget through pre and post budget dialogue at grassroots and national level, which gives opportunity to bridge citizens’ participation, reactions, concerns, opinions and aspirations in government planning and budgeting process, especially in the essential public services with particular focus on marginalized. On this backdrop, from 5th June to onward SUPRO's 45 district campaign committee has completed Budget Reaction at their respective district with the concerned policy leaders, duty bearers, civil society representatives, representatives from poor and marginalized communities and media personnel. The recommendations from all the district discussions were sent to the ministry of finance straight from the districts through fax and e-mail and then being accumulated and consolidated as national demand, which has been presented at the national Post Budget discussion meeting of SUPRO.
Press Conference- SUPRO organizes a special campaign program on District Budget in Tangail which is recently declared by Finance Minister. Of the part of district budget campaign SUPRO Tangail district committee has organized a press conference on 26 April 2013 at Tangail Press Club. SUPRO Chairperson and Coordinator participated the conference.
Coordinator , Kazi Shafiqur Rahman present the concept paper on district budget where SUPRO Chairperson, District President and Secretary answer the question raised from journalists from different media. President and Secretary of Tangail Press Club were present at the conference. Coordinator of SUPRO explained the proposed SUPRO design of district budget which reflected peoples/mass participation. Discussion Meeting on Concept of District Budget- on 27 April 2013 SUPRO organized a discussion meeting on the concept of district budget where SUPRO share it’s views about district budget.
Imbued with the motto of equity and justice, SUPRO from its inception has been observing International Human Rights Day in every year with the vow to establish economic, social and cultural rights especially for the poor and marginalized people of Bangladesh. To attain the goal, SUPRO through different mobilization program to implement in district and national level to establish a harmonize society, where all citizen will be in line with dignity and rights.
Accordingly, in 2009, SUPRO observed the International Human Rights Day in national and district level with the support of its districts committee and demonstrated human chain, colorful rally, cultural program ally with the United Nation’s call of ‘Embrace diversity, end discriminaton’. Thousands of people from all walks of life were participated in mobilization program. SUPRO prepared a leaflet and colourful poster of 5000, focusing human rights theme to draw the attantion of all levels citizen.
