Training on Budget Monitoring on Girls' Education
A two days’ training on finalizing the tools and process of the budget monitoring on girls’ education at primary and secondary level was held on 10-11 August 2009 at Association for Social Organization and Development (ASOD), Lalmatia, Dhaka. The training was organized as part of the budget monitoring on girls’ education at primary and secondary level in 12 selected districts, one of the three main activities of the MDG campaign 2009. The training
included session on the entire monitoring plan comprising tools,
process, intervention area, relevant stakeholders and monitoring time
schedule. There was group discussion on draft monitoring formats
followed by group presentation with their feedback, comments on each
formats. 
Planning Workshop on MDG Campaign 2009
A
day long planning workshop on the ‘Campaigning and Advocating for the
Achievement of the Millennium Development Goals in Bangladesh’ the newly started
project of SUPRO was held on 16 July 2009 at YWCA Conference
room, Mohammadpur, Dhaka. Aimed to
share and finalize the detailed planning of the
project activities and have common understanding about the activity
implementation, the representatives from 12 selected networking organizations
from 12 districts participated in the workshop.

MDG Campaign 2009
SUPRO, a national network of grassroots organizations in Bangladesh has undertaken a project on campaigning and advocating for the attainment of the MDGs in Bangladesh. The objectives of the project are to mobilize grass root people on MDGs obligation of Bangladesh and bring the grass roots’ voices to the Policy makers of national level, thereby advocating with the policy makers to influence them in taking effective measures on MDG implementation. The said project is funded by UN Millennium Campaign.

MDG Campaign 2008
Bangladesh is one of the signatories to the
MDG declaration of 2000 and committed to attaining these goals by the 2015
deadline. As more than half of the given timeframe has already elapsed; it is
necessary to assess the MDG attainments in Bangladesh. As a civil society and campaign organization
SUPRO began gathering information on latest status of MDG in Bangladesh context, and disseminated them
to raise issues on MDG achievement through advocacy and campaign. -To assess and measure the exact progress in MDG in keeping with the targets and existing socio-economic conditions.

the eve of Mid-Term Review of Millennium Development Goals at Dhaka Reporters'
Unity Auditorium, Dhaka.
The campaign was launched through a press conference titled "Progress, Review & Evaluation of MDGs: Nothing for Complacency". Chairperson of SUPRO Mr. Abdul Awal, General Secretary Mr. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, CEO Prodip Kumar Roy, Coordinator-Policy Research Aminul Haque spoke in the press conference & answered to the questions & queries of the Journalists of electronic & print media.
Aminul Haque, Coordinator-Policy Research presented MDGs goals, targets based on progress, challenges & recommendations from Bangladesh perspective.

Mid Term Review of MDG

September 2007
SUPRO organized a national consultation on 3 months long nationwide campaign
titled "Progress, Review & Evaluation of MDGs: Nothing for Complacency".
The campaign was launched on 06 July 2007 on the eve of Mid-Term Review of Millennium
Development Goals at Dhaka Reporters' Unity Auditorium, Dhaka.

In this national consultation SUPRO highlighted various recommendations regarding MDG achievement which evolved from districts seminar interacted by grassroots activists, political leaders, NGO workers & CSOs.

Ain O Salish Kendro Dr. Hamida Hussain spoke as key guest speaker while SUPRO
CEO Prodip Kumar Roy welcomed the audience & Chairperson Mr. Abdul Awal
moderated the consultation. Chairman of The Innovators Rashed Al Titumir,
Convenor of Peoples Forum on MDGs Rasheda K. Chowdhury, SUPRO Vice Chairperson
Mustafur Rahman Khan, Executive Director
of VOICE Ahmed Swapan Mahmud, Mr. Shahadat Islam Chowdhury spoke among others.
Mr. Tanim Ahmed of New Age spoke on MDG 1 & 8, Mr. Biplob Karmokar of Steps Towards Development spoke on MDG 2& 3, Dr. Dipak Kumar Biswas of HASAB spoke on MDG 4 & 5. SUPRO network members from 44 districts of Bangladesh were present & spoke in the event while National council members put their insights in seminar.
