Ensure Decentralization of National Budget Process Prioritizing Education, Health and Agriculture Sector
1.JPGSushasoner Jonno Procharavijan (SUPRO) organized a National Discussion Meeting on National Budget 2010-2011: Prioritizing Education, Health and Agriculture Sector at CIRDAP Auditorium on May 15, 2010.  The speakers of the meeting addressed on decentralization of National Budget, involvement of Parliamentary standing committee and participation from grassroots people to formulate people centered budget prioritizing education, health and agriculture sectors. The speakers also addressed to formulate district-wise budget based on local government centered development plan.

Seminar on Budget 08-09 on 16th June 08

budget.jpg"The Governments has  formulated a budget to meet the daily needs, it lacks the future perspective.  Debt servicing is the highest allocation in the budget and development budget  is less than deficit budget. So, this budget can not give better result in the  long run." Said Dr. Atiur Rahman at a discussiond, on the proposed budget.

 

On 16 June 2008 SUPRO (Campaign for Good Governance) has organized a  seminar titled  `Budget 2008-09: A People’s  Review’ at Ntional Press club , Dhaka .

Pre-Budget seminar on 20th April 08

01.jpgIn order to make the next budget 2008-09 poor people oriented distinguished speakers have emphasized on food security, increase allocation and utilization of health and education sectors. There should a strong congenial coordination between state, market and society. We need democracy and democratization of the administration as well as devolution of power for empowering the grassroots people. Speakers urged at a pre-budget seminar held by SUPRO.

 

On Sunday, 20 April 2008 , SUPRO (Campaign for Good Governance) has organized a seminar titled “Preference in Agriculture, food security and Public Service sectors in the budget 2008-09” at CIRDAP auditorium, Dhaka .
